Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Speclet ("Speclet", "we", "us") handles information when you use the Speclet application (the "App") for Atlassian Jira, distributed through the Atlassian Marketplace. We have designed Speclet to process as little data as possible and to keep your data within Atlassian's infrastructure.

1. Who we are

Speclet is an Atlassian Forge application. As a Forge app, Speclet runs entirely on Atlassian's infrastructure. We do not operate our own servers or databases that process your Jira content. For any questions about this policy, contact us at support@speclet.ca.

2. What information the App processes

When you use Speclet on a Jira issue, the App accesses:

• Issue content you act on: the summary (title) and description of the specific issue where you open the App and click "Generate". This text is used to produce acceptance criteria and test cases.
• Generated results: the criteria and test cases produced, which the App may cache to avoid regenerating unchanged tickets.
• Usage counts: a simple count of generations per site per month, used to enforce free-tier limits.

Speclet does not access, collect, or store your Jira issues in bulk, your personal profile beyond what Atlassian provides for authentication, your passwords, or any content from issues you do not explicitly act on.

3. How AI processing works

Speclet generates acceptance criteria using the Atlassian Forge LLMs API, which runs large language models hosted by Atlassian within Atlassian's own secure environment. This means:

• Your issue text is sent to Atlassian-hosted AI models to generate the result.
• Your issue text is not sent to Speclet's own servers, nor to any third-party AI provider outside Atlassian's infrastructure.
• Because processing stays on Atlassian's platform, Speclet is eligible for Atlassian's "Runs on Atlassian" data-handling standards.

AI requests are subject to Atlassian's own acceptable-use and moderation policies for its hosted AI services.

4. Where data is stored

Any data the App stores — cached results and usage counts — is stored using Atlassian's Forge hosted storage, within your Atlassian environment. We do not copy this data to infrastructure we control. Cached results are set to expire automatically. Atlassian's data-residency controls apply to Forge-hosted storage.

5. What we do not do

• We do not sell your data.
• We do not use your issue content to train AI models.
• We do not share your issue content with third parties.
• We do not run analytics that collect your issue content.

6. Data retention

Cached generation results and usage counts are retained temporarily and expire automatically (cached results within approximately 30 days, usage counts within approximately 40 days). When the App is uninstalled, associated Forge-hosted data is handled according to Atlassian's data lifecycle for Forge storage, which retains data for a limited period after uninstallation before deletion.

7. Your rights

Because Speclet stores minimal data within your own Atlassian environment, you remain in control. Uninstalling the App and following Atlassian's data-removal processes removes associated stored data. For questions or requests regarding your data, contact support@speclet.ca.

8. Children's privacy

Speclet is a business tool intended for use by software teams and is not directed to individuals under the age of 16.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, through the Atlassian Marketplace listing.
